I want to express my gratitude to everyone who wrote, and those who encouraged me and helped me complete this project. My special thanks to my engineer/arranger Xavier Miguel, the vocalists, Jose Luis Rios and Frankie Ray Cruz, and all the mentors of Apple's ONE-To-ONE program. My deepest gratitude.
To the person who commented that I'm like the Don Quixote of Latin popular music: well, thanks (! .??). I have even been titled, "RIQUIXOTE", (thanks to you) because of my site’s stance against the current of contem- porary pop music, and some of the corporations that influence and support it. But before judging me too quixotic please read the texts included in the site. Without question, like Don Quixote asserted, “we are living in a degenerate age” - at least musically, judging by what passes for music today. I think that restoring the Golden Age of Latin music would be like a dream, and certainly a much-needed social blessing, according to the views expressed on this site. These changes can't be achieved by the power or courage of a single Knight Errant (like me!), or a few composers, but by the education and help of a whole people - on the new battlefield of the internet. If you wish to contribute to the cause, please note there is a PayPal donation link on most of the pages.
Well, with your permission, I'm off to polish my helmet and my shield, and to sharpen my sword - er, pen! With a firm embrace, I bid you farewell, hoping to cut off the head of any evil-minded corporate giant that's a destroyer of our pop musical culture. May God always bless our lives with decent music - especially boleros and baladas.
